Announcing LA celebrity fitness trainer Jennifer "JJ Dancer" Johnson, founder of the JJ Dancer Method and the Bangin' Body Bootcamp, as head trainer for luxeFIT St. Martin!

We're thrilled to announce Jennifer "JJ DANCER" Johnson, founder of the JJ Dancer Method and Bangin' Body Bootcamp, as head trainer for our upcoming St. Martin retreat. Not only has this "it girl" of dance cardio performed with Beyonce, Kanye West, Pitbull, Lil Wayne, Outkast AND the Red Hot Chili Peppers — she also created all original choreography for Jessica Alba's dance sequences in "Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For." (We're talking two to five hour rehearsals per day!) 

If you need one more reason to sign up, we'll give you three: Nicole Scherzinger, Jenna Dewan Tatum and Olivia Munn! All three have been regulars at JJ's 8 a.m. "Twerk Before Work" class!

Sounds like the best adventure vacation ever, right? (Did we mention the house-made rum punch?)

Well, that's exactly how we spent an epic week at luxeFIT Barbados!

   

 

    

Meet our Barbados head trainers, Dave Weiner and Levi Root of Definition Fit in Sarasota, FL. After assessing the athletic abilities of our guests and seeking out any past or current injuries, these two managed to whip us into shape with squats, coconut relays, swimming, running on the beach, TRX exercises, agility ladders and resistance bands. But what workout is complete without push-ups? Yep, we did those, too.

We had a blast hanging ten with Barry's Surf School. A big thank you to Matthew Kieffer and Danny Edgehill for being the most patient instructors on the planet! 

Trust us, all this water kicking business does a number on your abs. ALL of your abs. You'll come springing out of that pool with a six-pack in no time!

We know what you're thinking. Where's the relaxation? As you can see from the photo above, we're sailing smoothly along the Caribbean Sea. Nothing but reggae music and smiles. Oh, and a rum punch or two. After all, it's always 5 o'clock somewhere!

Meet luxeFIT's rockstar trainer: Mia Duval

Orangetherory Fitness trainer Mia Duval will head up luxeFIT Barbados. We put together a fun Q&A to help you get to know her a little better. She is definitely "all of the things." 

I fell in love with fitness training because: I saw the impact it has on the client. Helping people create a better quality of life, enjoy more activities with their children, feel better throughout their work day — and most of them accomplish a dream they have held onto for so long. 

My personal diet/fitness regimen: I like to dip my toes in various activities such as dance, yoga, Orangetheory, athletic conditioning, Savage Race and fitness competing. Even in high school, I played soccer and volleyball, ran track and cross country and swam. I want to enjoy what I do, and life is too short to be bored with your routine. When it comes to nutrition, I have told most of my clients, "If it doesn't have a mother or come from the ground, you cannot eat it. Examples are chicken, apples, almonds, crackers."

The most rewarding part of my job: Seeing the smile and transformation of someone's life when they achieve their goals. Parents that can be more active with their children or athletes who didn't believe something was once achievable. 

My favorite workout: I love Orangetheory power days. Sprinting has always been a favorite of mine and if you add a group of motivational members, you feel undefeated.

The one exercise I dread: Lunges! I know I should love them. They are great for the booty and legs, but they are the one thing I do not want to see in my workout!

My fitness role models: Jackie Joyner Kersee and Mia Hamm.

Quote I live by: Currently, "Sometimes the bad things that happen in our lives put us directly on the path to the best things that will ever happen to us."

Hobbies: Latin dancing, rollerblading with my dog, logic puzzle games and horseback riding.

Favorite snack: Peanut butter protein balls.

No. 1 vacation spot: I have SO many places to explore, such as Barbados. I think ANY vacation time, even at home, would be No. 1!

If I had a super power it would be: Wouldn't we all love to eat everything and always keep our dream body?

My top fitness advice to those just starting exercise or getting back into it: DO NOT STOP. Make sure you are setting goals that are realistic. It is all about BALANCE!

I'm thrilled to lead luxeFIT Barbados because: I will be able to provide a vacation that will keep you adhered to your fitness goals! One of the many issues with previous clients is that they will go on a cruise for a week and eat/drink the whole ship. Once they come back, they feel groggy and beat themselves up about it. Well, here's a chance to have an amazing, healthy and fun vacation where you can meet great new people and return home feeling relaxed, balanced and good about yourself!
